Congrats, you made it to the end of the decade! ...well almost (: As we enter into not only a new year, but a new decade, let’s make some positive changes that will ensure that this will be your best yet! We have all heard the phrases “ New year, new me” or “ Time to make new year resolutions” but what if this year you just promise to make some small changes that can make a big impact? Many times as we enter into a new year we expect for our lives to make a 360 for the better in a blink of an eye, but the reality is THINGS TAKE TIME. From this post, I hope you can use the tips included to make 2020 the year of YOU!
1. Stay Organized
Sometimes as we get busy with the hustle and bustle of life, we can get overwhelmed with everything we have going on. I have definitely been the person who used to just go with the flow and didn’t plan things out in advance, and because of this I caused myself unnecessary stress! Honestly, I think I lived that way because I thought if I didn’t think about or plan out my responsibilities ahead of time, maybe they’d magically disappear or wouldn’t affect me. Boy, was I wrong! As I have grown and matured, I have learned the importance of time management and am oh so thankful for it. By arranging your tasks ahead of time, you will save yourself the anxiety and stress of completing things last minute and will thank yourself for it. To help you stay on top of things, I highly recommend getting a planner and not just writing out what you need to do at the beginning of the week and not giving it a glance again till the next week, but using it everyday as a personal guide. Trust me you will thank yourself!
2. Create a List of Goals
More times than we’d like to admit, we passively tell ourselves that we’re going to do something, but we never do. For example, New Years resolutions are the top thing on most minds in the beginning of the year, but very few fulfill all of them. If you’re wanting to make this a year of you, make a list of goals that you want to meet and actually make them happen! When we write our goals down, they’re more likely to be executed. A great aid for this is creating a vision board. The board is used as a visual aid that uses images and words to help you stay on track by being reminded of your goals when you see it.
3. Step Out of Your Comfort Zone
It’s a new year, new decade, new time. It’s time to switch things up! Use the new year as a fresh start and to try new things. Whether that’s picking up a new hobby, pushing yourself to go to the gym, or even finally making that YouTube channel you’ve been trying to muster the courage to create... DO IT. Step out of your comfort zone and out of your head, stop holding yourself back. Old habits don’t lead to new success, try something new this year and make it the best yet.
